What the hell is going on!? The government is not supposed to have any connection to any type of religious beliefs--but from the very beginning all the way to present day, we've been living in a Judeo-Christian fundamentalist state.
What ever happened to the separation of Church and State? Making Christmas a national holiday, posting the Ten Commandments on courthouse walls, putting "In God We Trust" on our money, including a mention of God in the Pledge of Allegiance, giving Churches and Synagogues tax-exempt status, recognizing the existence of Israel, and not teaching evolution to kindergarten students--all of that affiliates our government with religions.
We need to ensure that Church and State remain separate. And it's not enough to put a wall between them. It should be a double reinforced steel wall, with The God Delusion engraved on both sides (and the Qur'an if there is any room left). Anything less than that is unconstitutional.
And I'm not sure that'll be enough. After four plus centuries of atheist persecution, we need some sort of atheist reparations. And I don't mean payments to atheists. I mean Christians and Jews should apologize to us on a regular basis, and admit that they're pieces of garbage.
Oh--and John Hagee should be forced to bow down to Richard Dawkins. Every day. On a state sponsored Atheist TV Network. That'll replace TBN. And SPEED. And FOX News.
