I just went to mcdonalds.com, and I'm feeling really educated. I learned a lot there. There's a section on the company's history:
Since 1955, we've been proud to serve the world some of its favorite food. And along the way, we've managed not just to live history, but create it: from drive-thru restaurants to Chicken McNuggets to college credits from Hamburger U and much more.
I thought McDonald's just sold hamburgers and shit. Apparently, they're creating history. Like Martin Luther King did. I think McDonald's should get is own holiday, too. In fact, it should get Martin Luther King Day. I'm pretty sure there are more McDonald's than there are buses. I vote for McDonald's. The third Monday of January is now McDonald's Day. Actually, we can make it Martin Luther King, Jr. Day--brought to you by McDonald's. It can be a cross promotional thing. We'll put Martin Luther King on McDonald's cups, and Ronald McDonald on buses.
I actually did some research after my McHistory lesson, and it turns out that McDonald's didn't invent the drive-thru restaurant. And McNuggets were introduced in 1983. I seriously doubt McDonald's was the first place to offer pieces of battered and deep fried chicken. But they were the first to offer college credits from Hamburger U.
I think McDonald's should hire me. I can add to McDonalds' bottom line, and to their contribution to history.
Here's a good idea they can use: the Filet McGnon. Just put a filet mignon on sesame seed buns, with ketchup, pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes. And maybe caviar.
Right now, McDonald's is only targeting part of the population, They're missing out on the high end market. The Filet McGnon will change that. The second they offer it, I'll bet a ton of celebrities will start eating at McDonald's. Celebrities = money.
Plus, they'll bring together people with different income levels, and put an end to class warfare. Maybe they'll get a Nobel Prize for that. Nobel Prizes = money. Not as much money as celebrities, but they're worth something.
