Is the Gospel Completed Judaism?

Though the Christian doctrine represents itself as an updated form of Judaism, affirms that the Tanakh’s content is in fact from or inspired by God, and asserts that the Christian God is Judaism’s YHWH, it seems to me as if the religion taught by Jesus in the Four Gospels simply isn’t a continuation of the one detailed in the Tanakh / Old Testament.

For *instance, the God in the Four Gospels really does not seem to be the same as or even very similar to the Tanakh’s YHWH. After all, the Tanakh generally depicts YHWH as a jealous[75], angry[76], humanlike being who insists on being worshipped and having sacrifices made to him, while the Four Gospels portray God the Father as a being that lacks anything in the way of marked humanlike attributes, and Jesus (who is regarded by most Christians as the same as God the Father) as a human being who is not particularly jealous, angry, or *desirous of being worshipped.

Moreover, as mentioned earlier in this chapter, several aspects of Jesus’s life and Gospel do not seem to be in agreement with the Judaic doctrine. Footnote?* For instance, he claims that “?In all things, whatever you would have others do to you, you shall also do so to them”[77] is (the essence of) the Judaic Law and the Prophets, even though such a teaching is not a prevalent theme of the Jewish scriptures; he alters and adds to the Judaic Law, even though both he and the Jewish Law state that this Law cannot be changed; and he does not fulfill most of the Tanakh’s Messianic prophecies, even though he affirms that he is in fact the Jewish Messiah.
