When I was young my father said to me:

"Knowledge is Power....Francis Bacon"

I understood it as "Knowledge is power, France is Bacon".

For more than a decade I wondered over the meaning of the second part and what was the surreal linkage between the two? If I said the quote to someone, "Knowledge is power, France is Bacon" they nodded knowingly. Or someone might say, "Knowledge is power" and I'd finish the quote "France is Bacon" and they wouldn't look at me like I'd said something very odd but thoughtfully agree. I did ask a teacher what did "Knowledge is power, France is bacon" meant and got a full 10 minute explanation of the Knowledge is power bit but nothing on "France is bacon". When I prompted further explanation by saying "France is Bacon?" in a questioning tone I just got a "yes". at 12 I didn't have the confidence to press it further. I just accepted it as something I'd never understand.

It wasn't until years later I saw it written down that the penny dropped.

There is an old man i work with that i sit next to. He has to change the name to everything. The computer is called "the brain". The other day a client sent us a few dozen donuts and he comes back and says "hey theres donuts up there" So I was like "cool, where are they from?" And he says "Dunkers!" So im like ok must be a new place. I got up there and its Dunkin Donuts. He was always telling me how his Beastie cable from Best cost $150 for his new TV and i was like ok, i have no idea what you are talking about. And I eventually figured out he meant a Monster Cable from Best Buy. (I told him to return it, but he wont use the internet to order stuff because he wont give his credit card in the computer, but he will read it to a woman over the phone who may or may not be writing it down on paper to use later.) Actually, it's HOMOSEXUAL Jews who run the town.

I have worked in and on the sidelines of Hollywood's film industry for almost 30 years. The consensus is startling, but common speech in the "biz". Estimates are as high as 90% of the entertainment industry's controllers are of that group.

Now you know why the filth in films and TV is there. Good luck, folks. Link

Savannah is like a time warp to plantation era Georgia. Lots of culture and one of the few places where you'll still find a gentile southern accent, but people's notions on race are as antiquated as their dialect.

EDIT - Down here, "Yankee" refers to anyone outside the original confederate states. If you don't talk like Larry the Cable Guy or Rhett Butler , you're a Yankee. I was born and raised in Georgia, and I get called a Yankee just because I don't have a southern accent. Link
